DescriptionEddie Rickenbacker on a round-the-world tour during World War II. He is wearing a tropical uniform with a pith helmet. Rickenbacker was lost at sea for twenty-four days after the B-17 he was on went down in the Pacific in October, 1942. Inscription reads, "All of America glad to see the 'Indestructible Eddie' return. Barney M. Giles Maj. General USA". Caption on verso reads, "Eddie on a globe circling tour while serving as advisor to Secretary of War during WWII."
