Description
This image is a watercolor conceptual painting of a skyscraper done by an unknown student sometime between 1917 and 1942 . The painting shows a front view of the skyscraper with its brick walls , doors , windows , decorative ironwork , stone carvings , metal sculptures on the upper corners and sloping roof . In the background , the skyscraper is shown with two streets and buildings on either side of it . There are also people and automobiles in front of the skyscraper . Superimposed on the background buildings and in the lower part of the painting are floor plans for various floors with their scales , rooms , walls , corridors , doorways , windows , interior stairs , elevators , an auditorium , shops , and cafeteria , and a cross section view of the entire building . In the lower right corner , there is an inscription which reads "First Medal " a red star , and an Alabama Polytechnic Institute School of Architecture stamp . The painting is in fair condition with a small piece missing from the upper left corner and minor edge wear and is encapsulated .
