Crematory 2 |
Description |
This image is a set of pencil and pen and ink conceptual drawings of a crematorium done by Brendon A. Bond in 1940. The left third is a three dimensional perspective drawing in pencil of the main building of the crematorium with its doors, windows, arched roofs, and chimney surrounded by columned and covered outdoor walkways, other buildings, and trees. The right two thirds is an ink drawing of the floor plan with its buildings and their rooms for chapels and incinerators, walls, doorways, and stairs, columns and walkways, and parking lot with trees, grass, and landscaping. The bottom is an ink drawing of the front of the crematorium complex with its buildings and their doors, windows, arched roofs, and chimneys, columned and covered outdoor walkways, steps, men, and women with trees in the background. The top is an ink drawing of the side view of the crematorium main building with its windows and columned and covered walkway. In the lower right corner is the artist's information block which reads: "Brendon A. Bond, Ala. Poly. Inst., Class A, Prob IV, A Crematory." Above the block is a blurred Alabama Polytechnic Institute School of Architecture stamp with a red handwritten check mark. The drawing is in fair condition with minor edge wear and is encapsulated. |
