This image is a photograph used in the book Auburn , a Pictorial History of the Loveliest Village by Mickey Logue and Jack Simms , 3rd edition , 2013 , depicting the history of the city and the university . From page 287 : These two students guided "Old Nancy " a steam-driven tractor owned by the College of Agriculture , up West Magnolia Avenue in this 1984 campus parade . The tractor was driven many a mile by J . W . Dupress family members on their farm near Beauregard . Dupree's grandchildren , Olieta Parker , Lilly Beulah Gowder , and J .
