Description	This image is a photograph used in the book Auburn, a Pictorial History of the Loveliest Village by Mickey Logue and Jack Simms, 3rd edition, 2013, depicting the history of the city and the university. From page 307: More than 130 planes landed at the Auburn-Opelika Robert G. Pitts Airport for the 1989 Auburn-Alabama game. Most are shown in this aerial view. As of 1996, the record fly-in was for the 1984 Tennessee game, when 186 planes arrived, University Aviation Director Jim Hendrick said. Many years earlier, more than ninety military aircraft, including about thirty two-engine bombers, had been parked at the small airfield, according to General Robert Knapp. As director of flight training at an air base, he brought all his graduating class to Auburn on a mission to recruit pilots.
