Description
This image is a photograph used in the book Auburn , a Pictorial History of the Loveliest Village by Mickey Logue and Jack Simms , 3rd edition , 2013 , depicting the history of the city and the university . From page 177 : API's dairy barns , milk-collecting room (center) , and silos were completed in about 1929 . Fifty-six Jersey cows were milked twice daily in the 1940s... . The API creamery used this milk , and that from five or six local dairies , to supply dining halls and customers in town with milk and ice cream .
