Description	This image is a photograph used in the book Auburn, a Pictorial History of the Loveliest Village by Mickey Logue and Jack Simms, 3rd edition, 2013, depicting the history of the city and the university. From page 213: Auburn coed Leah Marie Rawls won national championships on water skis and honors in the classroom during the 1950s. She became the first woman inducted into the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame and the first recipient of an Auburn Ph.D. in history. She married George Atkins, an outstanding guard of the early fifties on the Auburn football team who later became an associate director of the Office of Alumni and Development. After teaching at Auburn, University of Alabama-Birmingham, and Samford University, Dr. Atkins became the first director of the Auburn Center for the Arts and Humanities...
