PS's 23, 24, and 25 will show the various types of white blood cells (WBC) in a conventional blood smear. These cells show good morphology as shown in these prepared smears. However, much of their morphological detail is lost when these cells migrate into the CT. REMEMBER THAT ALL OF THE WBC'S CAN MIGRATE INTO CT, AND THEIR FUNCTION IS ALMOST ENTIRELY RESTRICTED TO THE CT AREA, WHEREAS RBC'S DO NOT MIGRATE AND THEIR FUNCTION IS CARRIED OUT WITHIN THE VASCULAR SYSTEM.
The two cells with the round nuclei in this PS are LYMPHOCYTES and the other cell with the lobulated nucleus is a NEUTROPHIL (HETEROPHIL).
