In this PS extensive osteoblastic activity on some surfaces of the osseous trabeculae and osteoclastic (end of bar) activity on other surfaces of the bone can be seen. The combined activity serves as a means of bone remodeling. In essence, bone is added to one side and resorbed on the opposite side. Note the increased basophilia of the osseous tissue in the areas of resorption. Keep in mind that these actions on bone remodeling are active in long bones as well as flat bones.
Examine all osseous structures in MS 12 and identify areas of bone remodeling.
