Description
Thomas Hallock received his B.A . in Spanish and English from Dickinson College in 1987 , and his Ph.D . in English from New York University in 1995 . He taught English at Valdosta State University and the University of Mississippi , among other places , before taking his current post as Associate Professor of English at the University of South Florida St . Petersburg . He is also President of the Bartram Trail Conference . He is the author of From the Fallen Tree : Frontier Narratives , Environmental Politics and the Roots of a National Literature , 1749-1826 . He has also co-edited two books , Early Modern Ecostudies : From the Florentine Codex to Shakespeare ; and William Bartram , the Search for Nature's Design : Selected Art , Letters , and Unpublished Writings . Contains photocopied research materials for William Bartram , the Search for Nature's Design : Selected Art , Letters , and Unpublished Writings , a collection (published in 2010) of unpublished writings by the eighteenth-century American naturalist and traveler , edited by Thomas Hallock and Nancy Hoffmann . Included are extensive transcriptions and photocopies of Bartram's unpublished writings , research notes , and research correspondence .
