Commentary	Sage thanks President Lowell for the picture of "Standish Hall" and expresses pleasure at the Colonial style of the building and the name. Her comment "Ancestral names attract me" suggests that at this time her philanthropy was motivated by a desire to draw attention to her ancestry, as much as by altruism or other motives. Transcription	Cedarcroft Lawrence L.I. Tuesday Sept 17, 1912 Dear President Lowell About ten days ago I was the pleased recipient of your promised picture of "Standish Hall." The Colonial style of Architecture is certainly most fitting & very attractive, & I am sure Captain Myles would say "well done." Ancestral names attract me, -- with "Standish Hall" in Cambridge, & "Holder Hall" at Princeton, my ancestors could well hold up their heads & be proud as I am of their records & I sign, & am Most cordially yours Margaret (Olivia Standish) Sage
