Newspaper : Contains articles and photographs written by Pacers staff as well as students from a number of Alabama primary schools . This is the first edition of the newspaper , published in 2010 , and the articles highlight the progress made by the Pacers program over the course of 2009 and 2010 . This includes articles detailing the successes of new educational programs at rural Alabama schools as well as highlighting outstanding students from these schools . Pacers (Program for the Academic and Cultural Enhancement of Rural Schools) is a non-profit association committed to sustaining and celebrating Alabama's rural communities and schools . The program advocates for these communities through the sponsorship of educational initiatives and community development programs .
