Grid lines are drawn to shown townships . A phrase "Entered according to Act of Congress in the Year 1855 by J.H . Colton & Co . in the Clerks Office of the District Court for the Southern District of New York " is printed right above the bottom neat line . The number "12 " is printed at lower left corner and "No . 51 " is printed at the upper right corner of the map . A map key is provided at the right side for reference . A general profile of the state of Mississippi is provided on the back . The map is an original printed copy and is encapsulated . There are torn parts on four sides and some mending in the lower portion of the map . Except for these, the main body of the map is still in good shape .
