Title

Description
These men were students at the Alabama Polytechnic Institute (now Auburn University) in 1914 . They are shown here setting up a 7 foot outdoor telescope equipped with a photographic camera and driving mechanisms . The man with his hand on the telescope is likely Professor M . Thomas Fullen , who supervised its construction . Prof . Fullen was the Director of the Instrument Manufacture Section of the Society for Practical Astronomy . The men with him were the students who assisted in construction since it took six men to lift the telescope into place . They are (left to right) : unknown , O . K . Seyforth , J . G . Sparks , J . J . Prosser , unknown , Professor Fullen , and A. T . Feaster . The two unknown men were likely G . O . Fulmer , F . S . McKissick , or E . D . Pamparos who are also credited with assisting construction . Anyone with additional information is urged to contact the Auburn University Libraries Cataloging Dept . at caudlda@auburn.edu .
