This image is a photograph used in the book Auburn , a Pictorial History of the Loveliest Village by Mickey Logue and Jack Simms , 3rd edition , 2013 , depicting the history of the city and the University . From page 162 : Marching behind a sign that urged the Tigers to claw that Bulldog , Auburn's band paraded before the football game with Georgia in Columbus , Georgia , in 1933 . Auburn won , 14-6 . The teams continued playing each other in Columbus until 1959 , when they began playing on a home-and-home basis to provide more seats than the Columbus stadium offered .
