This image is a photograph used in the book Auburn , a Pictorial History of the Loveliest Village by Mickey Logue and Jack Simms , 3rd edition , 2013 , depicting the history of the city and the university . From page 435 : This 1979 photo ran in the 1998 Glomerata after the Tiger Theatre , "a treasured Auburn landmark , fell victim to the wrecking ball " in the fall of 1997 . Monty Python's "Life of Brian " drew picketers in 1979 , who called the film "blasphemous. " The Tiger Theatre opened on College Street in 1928 and closed in 1984 . It was remodeled into a mini-mall that included a Greek restaurant and later was replaced with the new home of the Gap and Foot Locker .
