From page 382 : Like Eagle Flights , Tiger Walks , and the Alma Mater , tailgating has become a special part of Auburn's football tradition . In 1996 , Tailgater's Handbook ranked Auburn fifteenth nationally among tailgating institutions . Author Joe Drozda's research covered forty college football games in four years , including sitting in on AU football and tailgating... . Drozda's book shares tailgating recipes . "But it isn't the food that makes tailgating great " he said . "It's the smile on someone's face , shaking hands with a fellow supporter and talking about your team.
