Description	This image is a map of the state of Alabama showing the main geographic features in 1823. Rivers and their tributaries are drawn clearly. Counties, major towns, and the Indian territories are shown. The map has no official title. The phrase "Entered according to Act of Congress, the 20 th day of August, 1823 by H.S. Tanner of the State of Pennsylvania" is printed below the bottom neat line. The year "1823" is penciled next to it. The map is photocopy of a printed copy mounted on a cardboard. It is not encapsulated. Some district boundaries are hand drawn on top of the printed copy. There are some random markings which may or may not show trails. Except for some discoloration on the lowest third of the image, the map is still in an acceptable condition.
