[page 1] New Orleans March 28th My dear Sister Mr Taylor delivered your kind letter I was glad to hear from you all but sorry that our dear mother was not so well, I bought you the three dresses requested I made a bundle of them & put the bundle in the box that contained sister Virginia things I have written to her and requested her to attend to the delivery of them, they are tied up and directed to you separate from hers so there can be no mistake Mr Taylor has made quite a short stay and sunday inter- vening I have not had time to attend to the patterns but there is very little change I will bring every thing up [page 2] when I come and then I can explain all about them, I put in a print of your Berege as it is two flounces, Louise & Victoria went with me to select them I hope you will be pleased my love to all adieu your devoted sister M V Gasquet Berege $9 Organdie robe 6 Plain Organdie 5 20 The dresses that I liked over ten $ were so much over that I could not have followed your limits in any other way MVG
