[page 1] Tallassee Aprill the 6th 1862 Dear Husban I write you a few Lines anser to yours in Which you Will find that We aire all well at this time and I was Glad to here that you Ware Well We aire Dooing as Well as cold be Expected under Ever circumstance you Wrote to No haw the Wold do he is a Bad one cirten I cant doo any thing With him he Wont mind any thing I say to him I had to get Mr Hairstan to come & Whip him the third Day after you left & I have Ben Swaping Work with him Ever sens he takes the Horse Negro & Works for himself a While and then comes With his Horse & Works for me he has got his corn Planted & mine too he finished mine Last Fridy Evening I think that if you cold Get any Boddy Else that you had Beter carry Landan home When you come Home for he Will Not Work Without a White man With him all the Time though Mr. Hairstan Makes him Work While he is With him But if Mr. Hairstan is Taken off I Caint Doo Nothing With him for I Tell you he as Nocount Without he has some Man that Will Make him No his Place Mr Hairstan Sais that he Will Swap Work With me as Long as he is Purmited to Stay at home & doo the Best he can for me to a crop for me &c I Want you to Come Home as Soon as you can & Stay as lang as you can git off to Stay for I am verry Lonsom & Thin you can See hare the Negro Dose &c I Want you to Bring me a Pound of Copperas & Same Invelops & Paper a Paper of Pins When you come if you can as thaire is None to be Gat oup her at Tallassee.
