[page 1] [Undated] Camp Fairfax Dear father i sit down to tel you how i am a getting a long i am well at present and hope it will find you all well we are move from camp chase to farfax simery they are moveing all the time most they ont let us be one plase much more than a month at the time i hav sen george painter he staid one night with us and it was pretty cold and we went to work and [page 2] Fiss up a nest for five of us and we made out to sleep warm after all and now we got to move again a little ways further tell amos to [whrite?] to write and give my respect to him and all the rest of them i write in that other letter for you to send me 10 or 15 Dollars as much as you can in care at [illegible] Washington DC Write as soon as you can
