[page 1] Camp in McGirts Creek, E. Fla 28th Feby 1864 Captain I wrote you a few days ago requesting that when there shoes arrived that you would forward them to Lake City, Fla. I would repeat the request as our men are entirely barefooted made so by our long marches of late. I would also ask that you forward invoice + receipts of all our business — so that I can keep my papers close up as possible. I will take Capt Peabody’s receipt for the train myself, so that you will have no trouble with it. I have a number of train tickets on hand which I will transfer back to you as soon as possible. I have left all of my papers etc. behind at Madison Fla.. I enclose receipt for 21 empty corn sacks which please credit me with. The funds for payment for the months of Jany + Feby will you furnish me with? We are daily expecting another Battle + I trust that we may be as successful, as we were at “Ocean Pond” on the 20th Write to me to Lake City Yours very Respectfully F.C. Sollie Capt. + A. Q. M.
