Dear brother I received your kin letter in __ season but have neglected to answer it but you must excuse me this time and I will do beter next time we are all well. I had a letter from mother stating that she was well as usual. James lost one of his horses. he talks of trading his farm for a farm in over near Iks and jaks. we have had a very hard winter out here this winter not warm anough for the snow to pack or partical in two months the snow is a bout 18 inchers deep
