Members present: J. F. Dowdell, E. J. Hamill, W. B. Neal, S. Perry, Isaac Hill, H. N. Sneed; J. H. Harris, W. C. Hurt, T. J. Rutledge, Wm. Shapard, E. T. Glenn, W. H. Lemar, J. W. Willis, E. T. Pitts, O. R. Blue, PRAYER by Reverend O. R. Blue. J. Hamill tendered his resignation as secretary, which was on motion of G. C. Dillard accepted. ON MOTION of William Shapard, George C . Dillard was elected Secretary. President Dowdell, after a few remarks as to management of the College and expressing an earnest hope for its prosperity, tendered his resignation. The Executive Committee made the following report which was received. In accordance with a resolution passed, the Board of Trustees, the Executive Board on the 30th of July, 1868, employed Reverend E. J. Hamill Agent for the college. Brother Hamill continued in the agency until the meeting of the Annual Conference in December at which time T. J. Rutledge was appointed. Brother Hamill made the following report: To amount cash collected $1972.05 Unpaid subscriptions 1218.80 Amount paid President 999.00 L. F. Dowdell 105 .00 traveling expenses 118.05 withheld for salary 750.00 unpaid subscriptions 1248.80 $3220.85 $3220.85 Unpaid subscriptions turned over to T. J. Rutledge $1246.80. The Preparatory Building having become very dilapidated and unfit for school purposes, the sum of fifty ($50) was appropriated for repairs. This amount was not sufficient to fix the building as it should be, which, was as much as the limited funds in the Treasury would we warrant. December 1st, 1868, Professor Glenn tendered his resignation as Professor of Mathematics which was accepted; since that time this position has been filled by the President and remaining members of the faculty.
